Inktober Day 4

2016-10-04-13-50-04

Today’s prompt is “hungry”.  I couldn’t think of anything more representative than this.

I used sumi ink with a dip pen and paintbrush.  The shading was done with Elegant Writer calligraphy pen.

Inktober Day 3

2016-10-03-10-22-51-1

The prompt for today is “collect”.

My son and his friends were playing Pokemon Go and that inspired my choice. This whole thing was done with a Pigma Micron 02.

Inktober Day 2

Today’s prompt is ” noisy “.

Perspective is tough for me. This was good practice even though it came out wonky.

Inktober Day 1

The prompt today is “fast”. I decided to start simple in order to try out a new brush pen and get a feel for its lines.

The brush pen was great. Then I was using my favorite fountain pen to do fine lines and for the first time ever it blobbed right on my drawing! Very not happy about that.

Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh page. See you here with my next little doodle.

Inktober Here I Come

Jake Parker is the founder of Inktober. He started in 2009 as a way to improve his inking skills. He drew an ink drawing every day in October.

Since then tens of thousands of people around the world join the challenge each year. This year I decided to give it a go too.

I have a brand new sketchbook just for the challenge. I intend to use only different types of black ink. I might occasionally do a pencil rough sketch first.

You can find my drawings here and on instagram under dylanbug_
